Technology is increasing every day, and that applies to the baby care world as well. While many parents go the no-frills route, others are more than happy to equip with all the high-tech gadgets available.

Slings, bouncers, play yards, jumpers and diaper genies. Today's baby gadgets are a far cry from the baby gadgets from decades ago. With a diaper genie on every new mom's baby shower registry today moms of the past can't help but envy the disposable diapers we seem to take for granted.

Helen Rohweder/Mother of three: "Talking about diapers like you got gosh we had the old flannel diapers that had to be soaked in water until washed."

Today there are some crazy inventions for new moms including the ultimate wipes warmer which is great for those middle-of-the-night changes or the portable video and sounds monitor How about the express bottle and food warmer sure, the microwave is a bit of a high-tech gadget, but it can create dangerous "hot spots" when warming bottles.

Rohweder: "In those days there were bottles and nipples & you had to sterilize them every time you used them in hot water. Yeah, it was different."

It's all about making moms life just a bit easier. Many new stores and boutiques have opened their doors to moms looking for some unique things.

Jennifer Smith Baby Boutique Store Owner: "We opened this store looking for new items that you couldn't find in town. When I was pregnant with my last baby I would shop online and I thought if I was shopping for it other moms had to be too. So we carry unique things that are not throw away products."

Another great thing about the local stores that offer new things and inventions for moms and babies is the technology that improves the lives of the pregnant women including clothing styles, nursing bras and pumps not to mention the natural relief in pregnancy sickness.

Marin Lackey Maternal Instincts Store owner: "We have a couple of great products for morning sickness we've got our Prego Pops those, those work great they taste like little candies then we also have morning sickness magic."

One invention that most pregnant moms love is called the Bella Band. The owner of Maternal Instincts says it is one of her number one products.

Lackey: "The Bella Band is one of our most popular and that is great it helps you when your first pregnant and none of your clothes quite fit."

Since I have been pregnant in this time of the best baby gadgets available I thought it might be fun to give Helen a couple of my favorite things to see if she has seen them before and out of the three products she didn't know one of them but was pretty impressed with the technology.

Whether you for the gadget or not, one thing that remains the same and that's the excitement and joy of a new baby.
