It was a scary morning for one local letter carrier, after her jeep ended up in an irrigation canal after it was rear ended by another car.

The accident happened around 10:00AM on Siphon Road near Hawthorne Road in Chubbuck. Chubbuck Police tell us that a red Honda Accord rear-ended the mail delivery truck, pushing it into a nearby canal. Both drivers involved in the accident were shaken, but not injured.

Police closed off Siphon Road for about an hour while they cleaned up the accident and fished out letters out of the canal. The postal service says if you live in rural Chubbuck and you're expecting letter, it might be delayed getting to your house, and possibly a little wet.
