In January of 2006, Dave had an opportunity to wear skiwear on a morning show in Portland, OR. I promise this is going somewhere. He had never been exposed to news or visited a news station. Let’s just say that the experience went well. So well that he decided to pursue journalism in college with and graduated with a degree in Communication with an emphasis in Broadcasting from BYU-Idaho.
At Brigham Young University-Idaho, Dave had the opportunity to have his own weekly sports show as well as being a producer, reporter and anchor for a weekly news cast during his junior and senior year of college. His most memorable moment was interviewing Justin Osmond and realizing how powerful the collaborative process of journalism can be.
Upon graduation from BYU-Idaho Dave sought out the business world. He was a French speaking Human Resources Specialist at an Explosives manufacturer in Salt Lake City and an Internet Marketing Specialist in Phoenix, Arizona. Despite enjoyment of his employment in the business world, he felt the need to use the journalism skillset that he polished in college. Just after the start of 2013, he made the move from Business to TV News and couldn’t be happier with the transition.
In his spare time Dave enjoys being a Washington Huskies football fanatic, exercising, trying to quit soda, laughing at YouTube comments and going to the movies.
