After an 11-year hiatus from television, Libby Wood is thrilled to join the KPVI News 6 team as the co-host of KPVI More.
Libby grew up just across the Snake River from Lewiston in Clarkston, Washington. Although not technically a native Idahoan, her up-bringing in the Lewis-Clark Valley set the stage for a good understanding of Idaho and its people.
A graduate of Brigham Young University, with a degree in Broadcast Communications, Libby began her career as a television news anchor and reporter for KIFI-TV in Idaho Falls. In 2001, she left television to join the ranks at Idaho State University. About a year later she married her sweetheart Todd, a Pocatello native. During her time at ISU she served as ISU’s public relations director.
In January of 2008, following the birth of her twins, Libby stepped down from the director position in favor of a part-time assignment. Libby’s greatest joy in life is being a mother. It was a hard-fought battle to have children and now she doesn’t want to miss a single moment. She and her husband are the proud parents of three children: Gavin, Grace and William.
Libby is an avid reader. She loves young adult fiction, especially fantasy, sci-fi and anything about dystopian societies. Basic translation: if there’s a vampire, werewolf, fairy or messed-up government in the story, Libby’s probably read it! Some of her favorite books are Atlas Shrugged, the Twilight saga, The Hunger Games trilogy, the Uglies series and the Divergent series. She loves cooking, home décor, gardening, and planning parties (she may like planning parties even more than attending them!) Her greatest delight is being a stay-at-home mom and all the great adventures that just naturally go along with raising children.
Join Libby each weekday at 4pm for KPVI More.
