Matt Gittins

Matt is no stranger to the sports world. Growing up watching Stockton to Malone connect on many pick and roll combinations inspired his dream to be work in the world of sports.

He spent four seasons with the Orem Owlz (Pioneer League Affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) where he was the play-by-play voice for the team as well as the Director of Media Relations. While there he was fortunate enough to receive two championship rings; one from the 2007 team and the other from 2009. One of his favorite memories was calling the last out of the 2009 championship game.

After the Owlz, Matt moved on to work for the NBA and NBA D-League. He was the voice of the Utah Flash (D-League Affiliate of the Utah Jazz and Atlanta Hawks). He also created highlight packages for the NBA. His call of a dunk by Orien Greene ranked as the number two play of the entire 2009-2010 D-League season. He also appeared on NBA-TV calling the D-League Game of the Week.

A graduate of BYU, Matt is the second of 12 children (eight boys and four girls). One of his favorite places to be is with his family at the Jazz games where he has been a season ticket holder for five years.

Matt looks forward to covering all kinds of sports here in Eastern Idaho.
