 | Melissa Hackney
   Melissa came from a small, country town north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a typical Wisconsinite she loves all things cheese, Packers and Aaron Rodgers. Growing up with three brothers, Melissa has grown to enjoy all aspects of sports, both watching and participating in a good game of baseball in the yard.
The last four years she lived in Chicago studying journalism at Columbia College. During her time at Columbia, Melissa reported and produced for the college’s live and entertainment shows, “Newsbeat” and “Metro Minutes.” Being a part of those shows allowed Melissa to gain experience both on and off the camera. Also, living in Chicago allowed her to experience and report on many different kinds of news stories that really formed her love of journalism. And unlike Todd, Melissa is not a Cubs fan.
In her senior year, Melissa interned at WTTW Chicago Tonight and during her time there she was able to learn from the veteran reporters and producers. She helped put together news segments, conduct pre-interviews and research stories and guests.
Melissa then decided to move to Idaho for her love of potatoes. Ok, that may be a stretch, but once she accepted the job at KPVI in December 2012 she couldn’t be more excited to discover all the delicious potatoes and everything that Pocatello has to offer.
So when Melissa isn’t at work she is out discovering the best basket of fries and her favorite cup of coffee. You may also see her out cheering on her Packers and Brewers. |
