Mary Christopherson has worked at the emergency shelter, 'Aid for Friends' for the last seven years and has helped people in need as they come and go through the doors of the shelter.

"I really enjoy being able to help the good folks of our community, a lot of people fall on hard times through no fault of their own, but regardless of why they are in need, we are here to help them, and it gives you a good feeling to be able to help others,” Said, shelter manager, Mary Christopherson.

With the colder weather coming, Aid for Friends emergency shelter needs more supplies to help more people.

"So we definitely have a need for winter supplies, such as winter coats for females, males and children, blankets, warm socks, gloves, hats, clothing items like that,” added Christopherson.

Mary says along with clothing, they could also use food donations for the food boxes they distribute to the community in need.

"We don't ask you what your income or anything is, and if you are in need, yes, you can get a food box,” said, Christopherson.

Monetary contributions help Aid for Friends to continue to shelter families and individuals that may have no place to stay during the holidays, and with the holidays coming up, they are starting to collect items for Christmas gifts for the residents of the shelter which also include children.
