The City of American Falls showed some pride today with food, games and fun at the annual American Falls Day celebration.

Residents and visitors were greeted Saturday morning with a parade through the city. There was also a golf tournament this afternoon, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament and free art show.

Event organizer Tyler Moore says it’s not easy to make a day like this a reality.

“There’s a lot of little details you have to do as far as organizing the parade and getting sponsors for that golf tournament and also for the movie in the park,” he says.

But Moore says it’s worth it to get the community out and bring them together.

“We get to work a lot with the community,” Moore says. “The kids love it. The old people love it. This is a pretty old community, so for everybody to come back is a tradition.”

Even after the parade, golf, prizes and treats, most say it’s the community of people in American Falls that make this city and even a great place to be.

Vendor Jessica Anthony says “being able to be here and socialize with the people of American Falls” is her favorite part of the day.
