Mountain River Ranch in Ririe held an American Hero Celebration Saturday. Summer Joy was there to catch some of the action.
Mountain River ranch is famous for their wagon or sleigh ride and dinner shows. Well, Saturday they are giving back to the community with a celebration to honor our past, present, and future military men and women.
"It's important for us to remember those who have gone before. There has been many warriors who lost their lives keeping us free and keeping this great country what it is," said Captain Robert Skinner, a Retired Navy Captain.
The event included wagon Rides, live music, barbecue, climbing wall, car show, historic military apparel and then following the memorial service they had a plane flyover.
"I just wanted to say this is an incredible country. We are so lucky to be free like we are and its because these people that surround me right here," said Tran King, Owner of Mountain River Ranch.
The third annual Memorial Day event lasted from 12 to 4 Saturday afternoon, but event coordinators say they hope the feeling of appreciation for our service men will last throughout the years.
I asked Captain Skinner, If military families are watching, what do what them to know? "Tell them we love them and thank them for their service," added Captain Skinner.
