The Bannock County Commissioners have signed a resolution to prohibit the lighting of fireworks in the unincorporated areas of Bannock County.

Commissioner Howard Manwaring motioned to prohibit fireworks because of the extreme fire danger that currently exists in this area.

The resolution passed unanimously after getting support from both Steve Hadley and Karl Anderson.

The fireworks ban will begin on June 28, 2013 and remain in effect until further notice.  This resolution adds to similar measures approved by the Pocatello and Chubbuck City Councils which ban fireworks in any area designated as a Wild-Land Urban Interface.
