Ask any middle school student and they will tell you that they are elated to get to use an iPad as part of their school supplies this year.
“ I have my own iPad at home and it's really capable of doing great things and I think it's a great technology and opportunity for the school and I think it will be great to get to use these in class,” says, 8th grade student, Brigham Campbell.
Beutler Middle School might be out in the middle of nowhere, but in the state of Idaho, they stand out, being one of the 11 schools chosen out of 85 applicants to receive the iPad technology for each and every student in the school.
"I think that we showed that we had the energy, the resources, and the desire to have technology in the classrooms and this last year we were ranked the number 1 middle school in the state based on star ratings, so we are excited about that,” says, technology implementation specialist, Trevor Jensen.
With this new technology in Beutler Middle School, it is changing the way teachers teach and the way students absorb material.
"The students are the most excited about this program in our school and they know more than most of the teachers and they are eager to show what they can do on these devices, and so many students that were not very interested in what we were doing before, are totally engaged with the technology now,” added, Jensen.
"It's really nice because we do a lot of projects with research and so like you can do it easier instead of just having to go home and do all of your homework, you can do it at school on the iPads, says, Paige Smith, a student at the middle school.
