Danny Chavez has worked hard in his life and career and over the years he began to experience some problems with his AC Joint and collar bone.
"I think it was just over time of being in construction and weight lifting and a lot of repetitive action, probably done incorrectly, and just over time it just deteriorated, and I just couldn't deal with the pain anymore,” Says patient Danny Chavez.
Danny found that even the day to day routine started to become unbearable
"It was such excruciating pain, it was comparable to like a bear biting me, I just couldn't deal with it anymore, and I couldn't even function at home with even my own child, playing with him,” Chavez added.
Danny didn't know who to turn to until a co-worker referred him to Dr. Newhouse who performs a procedure that helped Danny bounce back in a shorter period of time, with less pain.
"When I first started doing orthopedics 20 some years ago, the procedure that I did on both Danny and Pat, which is called a Rotator Cuff Repair, we did through a large open incision. It was usually a one, if not a two-day stay in the hospital, a lot of pain, and a significant amount of rehabilitation. Over the course of the last 15 to 20 years, we have changed that procedure to now be done completely through the arthroscope and completely done as an outpatient procedure,” says Dr. Newhouse.
Danny says he owes his health and recovery to Dr. Newhouse.
"It was like within weeks I felt so much better, I was actually able to sleep and recoup from a hard day’s work, which before I wasn't able to do that, sleeping was a chore in itself,” says Chavez.
