Wednesday morning, friends and neighbors were asked to slam on the brakes for the most important meal of the day and to raise a little awareness.
As part of breast cancer awareness month, Portneuf Medical Center hosted its annual Brake for Breakfast on the south loop of the Hospital Way campus in Pocatello.
Drivers were given a bag of breakfast goodies and also information on breast cancer treatment and prevention.
Stephanie Armstrong, Physician Liaison, at the hospital says the goal for the day is simple.
“To change one life,” said Armstrong, “to make sure that one woman goes out and gets her mammogram and that we detect breast cancer before it's devastating.”
Armstrong says roughly 3,000 breakfast bags were given to drivers.
