Brooklyn's playground opened 2 years ago in Pocatello, and it has been an absolute hit. Now, in order to keep the playground nice and neat, funding is needed.
Brooklyn's playground is an all access park for children of all abilities, and very rarely will you find it without someone taking advantage.
"Every time I come here it seems like the playground is packed and there are a lot of people in here," said Jonny Fisher, Brooklyn Fisher’s father.
With all the action that the park sees in a day, funds are needed to keep the fun alive.
"Brooklyn's playground is a gift to the community. It was put together by many wonderful volunteers. And in order to keep things functioning properly, you need to have money to make repairs and thing like that," said Jim Johnston, member of the City Council that helped put on the event.
And that's where Brooklyn’s Buddies breakfast comes in, $7.00 a head buys you a morning with friends and Brooklyn’s very own favorite breakfast:
"Pancakes eggs and sausage," according to Brooklyn herself.
The money raised this morning is hopefully going to keep Brooklyn's playground looking this great for a very long time.
"We start a fund and then we will raise the dollars to make sure that the playground is taken care of forever," Johnston said.
Keeping the playground pristine isn't the only thing Brooklyn’s Buddies are concerned with, however, they also want to keep up with the ongoing needs of the community.
"So if there is anything that's the playground doesn't address, a need for a child, an obstacle that doesn't allow them to play we look at that, we evaluate it, and we assess how we can help that child overcome the obstacle that they face," said Jonny Fisher.
If you missed the breakfast this morning, you can still donate to Brooklyn's Buddies by going to brooklynsplayground.org.
