Figures compiled by Greg Johnston with Keller Williams Realty show that in the last three months single family home sales are flat but over the last 12 months are up by nine percent. Of those sold in the past three months, they spent a week less on the market compared to last year with an average number of days on the market standing at 111 versus 118.

The figures also show that the number of homes listed in Bannock County is by up roughly 14 percent and Johnston says that is what is keeping home values down.

“We had a little bit of appreciation which is nice,” said Johnston. “The only negative thing with the market is we have a lot of homes for sale right now and it is causing values to not run up as much as we’ve anticipated. Values are stable, they’ve come up maybe two percent this year but that’s good, it shows that things are rebounding and improving.”

One thing Johnston also mentioned is that the number of multifamily listings sold over last year is considerably and could be a sign of investors returning to the market.
