You may remember your favorite childhood book, but chances are, you probably didn’t get to meet the author who wrote it. Well kids in Idaho Falls had the chance to meet a very talented author as they welcomed well-known children’s writer, Obert Skye.
Skye came to promote his latest book; while at the same time hoping to inspire kids to follow their dreams.
When writing his first series just 7 years ago Skye explained how much he has enjoyed coming to the Idaho Falls area, in fact this is one of his first stops on his tour.
“Great readers here brilliant kids and super fans so I love it a lot, it’s a great stop its one of my first stops even, so I’m happy to be here” said Skye.
Skye’s main objective is to expose kids to his books and motivate them to do well in life.
“I talk right now about the 6 doors that they shouldn’t ignore and they’re just steps that they can take to do amazing things in their own life; and they coincide with writing and the writing process as well” continued Skye.
As he makes his way around these schools his one recurring message is to finish what you begin.
“I teach that in all the things in schools, I go to. Rather its books, or sports, or music or whatever, and when you finish really amazing things can happen from that and that’s sort of where I find myself now. I finished some ideas I had as a kid and I’m lucky enough to be sharing them with others and having success from that” said Skye.
Skye currently has 3 books out from his ‘The Creature from my Closet’ series.
If you would like to see Obert Skye he will be signing books today at Barnes and Noble located at the Teton Mall in Idaho Falls at 6:30.
