School has started back up for most kids in the area, and while this brings on a lot of change in itself, many kids have to adjust to new situations, experiences and even how to deal with bullying. For this reason school district 91 in Idaho Falls teamed up with country station The Hawk, and a rising country star to help students become more aware of bullying; and how to deal with it.

“I wrote this song, my new single, “Hey Bully” about me being bullied as a kid in school, to the extent of like my mom took me out of public school and put me in homeschool because of it” said Morgan Frazier.

Like Morgan, every year, hundreds of students are bullied in schools. In fact, the average bullying incident lasts about 38 seconds.

“Bullying and harassment and mistreatment in general in school has been a big issue for a very long time, it’s come to the surface more and more in recent years, and we’ve been able to work together with our students, teachers and administration” said school counselor Jenni Horne.
One thing Eagle Rock does to help their students is called bully reports…students can write the day, time, place and name of the person who bullied them anonymously…..and while this is an effective method for the school, they wanted to do something that would give the kids a lasting impression.

“If I only help one kid with this song, it makes it worthwhile and makes everything worth it” continued Frazier.

Morgan Frazier has teamed with “Stand for the Silent” a national campaign against bullying, to help other children who might be going through some of the same things she went through as a child.

Morgan Frazier is opening up for Chris Young at the Eastern Idaho State Fair Thursday night.
