After the community rallied to provide school supplies to 1,000 local students in need, Friday, a local credit union provided the necessities to over 400 more.

At Connections Credit Union's Olympus location in Pocatello, employees were handing out the provisions to the students and parents who may have been unable to attend last week's Back 2 School Giveaway in Chubbuck.

Jaclyn Brown, Marketing and Communications Coordinator with Connections Credit Union, says one of the best parts of helping local students is knowing they are helping them to start the year off with the right tools.

"We just try to prepare as many kids for school as we can, that's all" said Brown. "We want them to feel comfortable and confident when they got to school and get the best education they can get."

In total, the Back 2 School Giveaway last weekend and Friday's giveaway provided over 1,800 sets of school supplies to students.
