More and more, malls across the nation have higher numbers of vacant stores. Locally is no different, the Grand Teton mall in Idaho Falls is losing a store that has been around for a long time in the Idaho Falls community.
Demarcos is one of the malls original tenants, after 28 years they have to close their doors.
The Grand Teton Mall has been in Idaho Falls since 1984.
Demarcos president, Rob Marcovitz has been there since 1989.
His family has had a long successful history in the clothing business.
Marcovitz and the store's staff say they've loved being in this area for so long.
“We really appreciate all their business over the years, and it’s been wonderful, they’ve been phenomenal. You know as far as clientele wise it’s really been an enjoyment and enjoyable waiting on them and it’s kind of been our pleasure and fun for not only myself but our staff” said President of Demarcos Robert Marcovitz
Demarcos says they will close their doors when the store is wiped clean. They're big closing sales start Thursday, February 23rd.
