Crews are still cleaning up the wreckage after an early Tuesday morning accident near Blackfoot.
According to Idaho State Police, 57-year-old George Riedel of Quebec had pulled his tractor trailer over near milepost 93 to check a flat tire. While in the semi calling for help, 55-year-old Peter Spicer of Pocatello was in a semi pulling doubles when he rear ended Riedel’s parked rig.
Spicer’s semi tipped onto its side and both semis caught fire. Spicer was transported to Bingham Memorial Hospital.
Traffic was rerouted around the accident scene with I-15 being shut down for several hours.
The crash is still under investigation.
