With just a little over 80 percent of Americans planning to celebrate Easter, Easter related spending is on the rise. National numbers suggest that each household spends around $130 dollars which amounts to $14.7 billion dollars total across the United States. One of the biggest Easter traditions is the egg hunt. However, many families come together beforehand to paint and decorate the eggs. Over 75 billion eggs are sold every year.  Summer Joy joined her family this easter to help get the eggs ready and to talk to a few easter experts.

"Easter is one of the best holidays because it has things to do with being joyful and the savior getting resurrected, but it's not just about that. It also has fun stuff like coloring eggs and hiding them and finding those fake eggs with candy inside of them is my favorite part, said Jean, one Easter Expert.

"The best part is coloring eggs and having fun with your family," said Amoree, another Easter Expert.

Many families across America spent the last couple of days mixing vinegar, hot water, and food coloring to make those beautiful eggs.

"These eggs are my favorite because I like the color of the blue, and this one because it says KPVI, and this one because I like polka-dots," said Fabian an Easter experts.

The egg is said to represent new life and beginnings, each egg has a different size, shape, and texture, so that not one egg comes out looking the same, but each has a special touch because it holds a memory.

"Easter is to enjoy and have fun and spend more time with your family because usually they're gone," added Fabian.

"The best part about Easter is when Jesus Christ gets resurrected," said Jean.

"It is my favorite holiday because some other holidays you don't get to have this much fun," said Carleigh, Easter Cheer leader.

The experts I talked to say it's not about making your egg look perfect, it's about spending time around the table with family, making a mess, and the most of what time we have together.

"I like Easter because you get to hide eggs and you get to see your friends and find the eggs," said Jean.

"My favorite part of Easter is I get to hang out with my family because some live in faraway places," added Carleigh

Americans plan to buy over 120 million pounds of candy, 16 billion jelly beans are made just for Easter and 70 percent of that candy purchased will be chocolate and with thousands of Easter egg hunts across America, I asked one expert if she had any advice. She said to use your eyes.. or

"I think they should just use their eyes," said Salina an Easter egg hunter.

"You get to have a really fun time finding your eggs and baskets together and helping each other out and making alliances," said Fabian.

My family just had one more thing to say. "Happy Easter!" said the family.

Thank you so much for sharing that with us, it looked like a great Easter celebration.
