It’s arguably the most divisive issue right now. And people in eastern Idaho are certainly taking a stand. It was hard to avoid the topic as people on both sides of the issue took their arguments to social media. Minutes after we posted the question on Facebook, the responses came pouring in.

“I think before he starts tampering with our 2nd Amendment right, he needs to clean up his own house, first,” said someone on the KPVI Facebook page. “What about Fast and Furious?”

Another person wrote.

“This is only the start of us losing all guns.”

Idaho Senator Mike Crapo issued this response.

"The President's proposal on gun control is very disappointing.  Any discussion about restricting the Constitutional rights of law-abiding Americans deserves, at minimum, a full and public debate in Congress.  Burdening law-abiding citizens of this country with additional gun restrictions is not the answer to safeguarding the public from further attacks.”

We want to know how you feel about this. The best way to do this is on our Facebook page.
