With the economy the way it is, and unemployment rates rising dramatically over the last few years, many families in America have been trying to figure out new ways to make a few extra bucks. Well one family from Idaho Falls has been extremely successful at this.

Trevor Cooley is a husband and father of four; but what really makes him stand out is the unique way he’s bringing in money to support his family. Trevor has become a self-published author through Amazon.

“So I put out my first book in May kind of just on a whim, I’d been putting it off for a long time because I wanted it to go this traditional publishing route, I didn’t want to, I thought that it was, I guess a bad way to go about it to put it out myself” said Trevor.

It’s a good thing he didn’t put it off any longer because after Trevor’s second book came out, the Amazon community couldn’t get enough of it. He sold over 15,000 copies in the first year.

“It was generating enough interest and enough sales that my wife was able to quit her job and hopefully we’ll keep building to the point where I can quit my full time job because right now I’m doing everything part-time” continued Trevor.

The books Trevor has written are part of a fantasy series, comparable to the Lord of the Rings. He has already put three books out and a novella and is currently working on his fourth book of the series.

“Well the reason this has worked I think so well for me is because it’s something I’m passionate about, something I like, you know a lot of times people will go and they’ll just find something that they hear will make money or they’ll settle on something because a friend does it, but if you’re not passionate about it, it’s not going to go anywhere” said Trevor.

Trevor says his books are appropriate for anyone from the age of 13 and up.

You can find Trevor’s books on Amazon; the first book of the series is called “Eye of the Moonrat.”
