Here's the latest update from the Bureau of Land Management regarding the two fires burning in our area. As we've been reporting, the 2 1/2 Mile Fire is contained. Crews have been working today to clean up hotspots. The fire is expected to be controlled at 8:00 p.m. tonight.

Firefighters are also gaining the upper hand on the Beaver Pass Fire in Butte County which is now estimated to be just 31 acres in size. No buildings or homes are threatened by the fire. And, thanks to some overnight rain, firefighters hope to have it contained by 8:00 p.m., tonight.
