UPDATE: A man who escaped from custody near Portneuf Medical Center Monday was back in custody Monday night.
Police got a tip around 9:30 that Nathaniel Yabenay was spotted in the area of Vaughn Road south of the ISU campus. Pocatello Police responded and followed Yabenay over several fences until he entered a building. Police caught him on the upper floor.
According to a spokesperson with the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, When police arrested Yabenay he was still wearing his orange shoes, brown shirt and boxers.
Randy L' Teton also said Yabenay complained of having a broke leg claiming he jumped off a 20 foot roof upon escaping.
The Shoshone-Bannock Tribal Corrections will be working with the Fort Hall Police Department criminal investigators in pursuing federal charges against Yabenay for his escape from lawful custody.

Lieutenant Paul Manning says the subject is Nathaniel Neville Yabenay. He is a Native American who is 35 years old, 5'11" and 260 pounds. Yabenay has dark hair and brown eyes.
Yabenay was last seen wearing boxer shorts, tan T-shirt and orange jail crocs. He escaped from Ft. Hall Corrections officers in the area of Portneuf Regional Medical Center around 1:45 PM Monday afternoon.
Police say Yabenay took off his jail clothing and he is possibly on the run in his boxer shorts and T-shirt, wearing the orange jail shoes though he may have obtained different clothing by now.
Subject was incarcerated at Ft. Hall for domestic related charges and eluding. He also has active warrants out of Bannock County.
If this individual is observed, do not approach, call 911 and report his location.
