A Night of Cookie magic will include numerous local restaurants taking Girl Scout cookies and making their own dessert creation, which then you can vote which one was your favorite. For five dollars you can get five tastes or 15 dollars for 20 tastes.
There will also be music and a silent auction. This is a fundraiser to help support our local girl scouts in the Pocatello and Chubbuck area. The money will help girls who can’t afford registration, go towards community projects, and give every girl who wants to go to Girl Scout Camp the opportunity. Tasha Rodriguez, a Girl Scout Leader, says there is numerous benefits, it’s not just about the cookies.
“I have had a few girls who have been shy and timid and they don’t really want to look at you, talk to you and they are kind of nervous and within the last year or two having some of these girls they have blossomed. You get to see them smile. We sell cookies to the public and they go out talk to the people, and they’ll will look them in the eye and see their self-confidence build and that’s a huge deal for us,” said Tasha Rodriquez, a Girl Scout leader.
It will be held this Saturday night, on February 9th, from 6pm to 9pm, at the Bannock Veteran’s Memorial Building.
