The Holiday shopping season is right around the corner and I went to Sears in Chubbuck to find out more about how this store and their employees are getting ready for the busiest time of the year.

Store Manager Kimberly Johnson explained that, “For us Thanksgiving evening, we’re opening at eight p.m. so it’s a matter of getting ready, and making our members happy.”
Kimberly feels confident going into Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Not only thanks to months of training, but thanks to what she feels is a great time of year to be in this business.

“Have fun, because the holiday season in retail, it is a lot of fun,” Johnson said.

Kimberly has been in Retail with Sears for sixteen years and she says that in order to have that fun on Black Friday or Thanksgiving, you need to remember one important rule.

“Stay organized, that’s the key. Look at your ads look at ads early on Thanksgiving and have a plan where you go. In my families’ personal experience we have a plan we send certain people to certain stores, we have walkie-talkies and we get to enjoy everybody’s sales,” Johnson added.

Finally, Johnson said that there’s just something special about the odd hours holiday shopping rush

One’s that haven’t shopped Sears in a really long time, it will be a really great time for them to come and see us and just get great member service.
