In part four of our Hot Properties series we take a look at some higher end homes in the Inkom and Pocatello areas.
First, Greg Johnston with The Home Specialists takes us on a tour of 1922 West Portneuf, a five bedroom, four and half bathroom home in Inkom that originally listed for $1.25 million but is now listed at $469,000.
“It's a really neat property, it's a custom home and you won't find another one like it,” said Johnston. “You can see from this large entryway that you have a lot of square footage. Off the entryway, one thing I like a lot is this office. Now you can see from this office area all the built in cabinets and this is really a nice feature to have such a quality office.”
“Hardwood floors, which is consistent from the entryway all the way to the kitchen. This is one of the nicest parts of the home because you have this large kitchen, with a large center island, with large chairs and a large dining area with hardwood floors combined with this living room area with tall, dramatic ceilings.”
“This is the master bedroom; it's really large in fact it's oversized. The people who had the home built designed it so that you would have plenty of room in the master bedroom to also have a sitting area, so about half of it is designed for bedroom furniture and half of it was designed to have a couch, table, and a chair as a sitting area.”
“They did a great job with the master bathroom area. There's a large walk-in shower with tile walls, tile floors. And a double jetted tub with a waterfall that is on the backside of the gas fireplace so it's really decorative.”
“This home has a huge basement. You can see how big it is and how many options you have as far as decorating. You can put TV’s, pool table, ping pong table, game room, you have a lot of stuff you can do when you have this much space.”
Next Greg takes us through 9197 Nottingham in Pocatello. The home listed in 2007 for $479,900 but now is at $277,000 and has six bedrooms and three bathrooms.
“Inside this home has a neat entryway, they've tiled the floors throughout a majority of the home,” Johnston said. “Look at the doors and the trim, they've done a high-polish black which is really unique. (The trim) ties in with the kitchen cabinets and some other aspects of the house.”
“Huge kitchen, dining area, living room with a vaulted ceiling. They put in custom alder cabinets, granite countertops. The same large tiles throughout the kitchen, dining and entry areas. Notice some of the nice finish they've done with the fireplace, the mantle, the pillars and the tile around it. They've also done a venetian finish on the walls which looks fantastic.”
“The master bedroom is really large and it opens up to the master bath. Two-person jetted tub and a large walk-in shower with glass walls and granite countertops in the dual sink area.”
“The home has a huge family room. It was set up so you have plenty of room for TV’s, couches, and a pool table. They put the lower light in so it would be right over pool table and even though we're in the basement there are nine foot ceilings.”
“One really cool feature is the theater room. The builder of this home put in elevated seating, painted the ceiling black, and dark walls so it will setup nicely for a home theater.”
Friday, we'll continue the look at Hot Properties in eastern Idaho by featuring some more homes from the lower valley.
