Alan Sudweeks, and IT Tech expert for School District 25 says your accounts may not be as safe as you think.

Sudweeks says it's important to have strong passwords like upper and lower case letters along with symbols, numbers and at least 16 characters long.  He also suggests having a two step verification like your normal log in and password along with a pin number emailed to another address and make sure to change your password every three to six months

"Just remember whatever goes out there sometimes is out there forever, so be very careful what you post," says Alan Sudweeks, Computer Repair Supervisor for School District 25.

Apple is working with law enforcement to help identify the criminals involved.
