An early Monday morning traffic stop on Channing Way in Idaho Falls led police to find stolen documents, cellphones and US passports.

Around 12:30 Monday morning, police stopped a 2002 Honda Accord for a traffic violation.

Police say the driver, 26-year-old Jesse Ryan Hackney of Clearfield, Utah, initially provided a false name to police.

After learning his true identity, Hackney was wanted in Utah for a felony probation violation and a suspended driver's license.

Hackney's passenger, later identified as 31-year-old Shante Marie Davaz of Idaho Falls also provided a false name to officers.

As police were making the arrest officers found Davaz and Hackney in possession of several stolen documents, checks, cell phones and a financial transaction card.

The US passports were linked to a home burglary in Utah.

Both were booked into the Bonnevile County Jail on felony possession of stolen property charges.
