There is a little boy named Braydon in Southeast Idaho who has liver disease and he is waiting for a transplant. He has a dream to meet the Denver Broncos. ISU’s College of Business Professor Alexander Bolinger saw a valuable learning opportunity for his students while helping this little boy’s wish come true. Summer Joy has the details.
ISU students from management 4441 and Chick-Fil-A are teaming with Make-A-Wish to raise funds to help Brayden meet the Broncos by doing a Spirit Night Fundraiser. Dr. Bolinger says this challenge allows students to be able to apply the skills learned from the class, like organizing, communication, time management, and leadership. The fundraiser is tonight starting at 5 p.m. and going till 7 p.m. at the Chick-Fil-A in Ammon. Heidi Bluemel, a student in the class, says she’s really enjoyed this project because its hands on learning and it can really help make a difference.
“This does give us real world experience where we can actually put together an event and execute that, but it also I think teaches us the importance of giving back to our community and those in need. It’s for a great cause, for a local boy whose wish is to go see the Denver Broncos. How else are you going to spend your tonight? Come on down, have some fun and good food, and know what you’re paying for tonight is going to help a little boy,” said Heidi Bluemel, an ISU Buisness Student.
If you plan to go make sure you let Chick-Fil-A know that you want your order to go towards the Make-A-Wish event, have a donation ticket or a flyer, which they will be handing out at the door.
