Police arrested an Idaho Falls man after he lead them on a short foot pursuit.
Officers were called to the 400 block of First Street, Thursday morning, because of a suspicious male sitting in a car.
When detectives approached the stolen Geo Metro, a male suspect took off on foot. Officers caught up to Shane Michael Bentley, 32, a short time later.
Officers searched the stolen car and found a stolen 40 caliber pistol, along with drug paraphernalia.
Bentley was arrested and booked into the Bonneville County Jail for possession of stolen property, two counts of grand theft, resisting an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, two misdemeanor warrants and one felony warrant from Bonneville County for probation violation.
