The man being accused of the January 19th murder of Idaho Falls resident Kristy Aschliman appeared before a judge today.
It was Adan Arroyo’s preliminary hearing to determine whether or not there is sufficient evidence or probable cause of his involvement in the murder, for a trial.
The hearing started at about 9:30 a.m. Manny different witnesses were called to the stand to testify about what they knew of the January 19th murder on Lincoln Road.
At least 3 of the witnesses testified they saw Arroyo running behind Kristy Aschliman and then shooting her. She fell to the ground and passed away shortly after.
More witnesses said they then saw Arroyo run behind some houses into a field. Police were dispatched to the scene where they followed Arroyo’s footprints through the snow covered field.
Arroyo had left the scene with a friend who had gone to pick him up but was later arrested that same night.
The court found there is enough evidence of probable cause that Arroyo was involved in first degree murder.
His next appearance will be on March 20th at the Bonneville County Courthouse.
