"We take campus beautification very serious, it's always good to have a beautiful campus, and lots of people from legislator, from friends, to donors, to students who have commented so much on how beautiful campus looks, we do that so that, because we care so much about the students and those who come on campus,” Vice President for Advancement, Kent Tingey stated.

ISU students, faculty, faculty services, and staff, and the campus beautification committee, work together and decide what types of projects will be implemented on campus.

"So we begin this project with the help of some very kind donors, Jack and Mary Lois Wheatley and their family who have given us, who have made gifts to help unify campus through building things like this, or planting trees, and it's through their kindness, through the dedication of our professionals here on campus and the commitment of President Vailas to making this campus as beautiful as possible, that we are able to do these things,” added Tingey.

Over the summer, 165 trees and foliage were planted on the University grounds.

In addition to trees being planted, a couple of seating circles have recently been finished on campus for students to come and study and enjoy on their breaks.

"You know it's really nice to have areas where we can just hang out or study, and enjoy the outdoors while the weather is nice, so I have really enjoyed it,” Questen Merrill, a student at ISU said.

"There is a lot more room to sit around and study and be outside, before we had  like a couple of benches and picnic tables, but there is not a whole lot of room to sit outside, unless you want to sit in the damp grass, or in the dirt, it kind of opens it up and allows more people to be outside and not be cooped up in buildings all day,” Krista Paterson,  another student from ISU added.

Future projects are in the works with more seating-circles, trees, foliage and retaining walls to add to the beauty of ISU's campus.
