It's a New Direction for The Mystique
For over 15 years, the Mystique Theater has provided the region with quality community stage productions. On Thursday, they announced a new name and new direction for the theater.
It is now called the New Mystique Performing Arts and Events Center. While they will continue to provide a quality community theater experience with musicals and performances, they will also host community events like business gatherings, weddings, receptions and the Miss Pocatello Pageant.
One of the biggest changes is that the New Mystique Performing Arts and Events Center is now run by a Board of Directors. The board and various committees comprise over 50 people who volunteer their time to work on everything from productions to building maintenance. The Not-for-Profit theater will become a place for the community to gather and a place for the community to get involved.
Lane Erickson/Mystique Board of Directors, “Well frankly, it’s pretty amazing for them to have this type of facility given the size of Chubbuck and Pocatello. There are not very many places, even in bigger cities, that have a facility that will be open to the public and that the public will be able to enjoy using.
The Mystique’s first production of the new year will be “The Drowsy Chaperone” which takes to the stage on February 14. Ticket information can be found on their website.
