When you think of skiing in Jackson Hole; you probably think of extreme skiing, but Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has a surprise for those skiers who just like to cruise.
A brand new lift just opened; it’s called the Casper Lift and it’s all about intermediate skiers and snowboarders.
“A lot of people used to complain about how long and slow the old ride was;" says skier Bob Woodall, "it was all kind of clunky.”
But not anymore….Jackson Hole Mountain Resort just opened up a brand new high-speed lift for the intermediate section of the mountain.
“This is great; the number of people that turned out for this; I was actually a little surprised; you know it is a Thursday right and mid-week and look at the crowds we have here; it’s very nice” said Chief Marketing Officer Chip Carey.
The new Casper Lift can now take over 2,000 skiers up in an hour.
“Wonderful cushioned chairs and they’ve got those nice trail maps on the bars” continued Woodall.
“What really makes this lift special is the terrain that it services; because ski is all about coming down; ok so we’ve completely done this trail system over here over and again made the terrain much more friendly to intermediate skiers” continued Carey.
The Casper Lift also connects the extreme side of the mountain with the bottom of the mountain; which means skiers can go anywhere they’d like as opposed to staying on one side.
We just got news that the aerial tram in the upper mountain will open on Saturday.
The Casper Lift is named after Casper, Wyoming.
