The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting which happened late Saturday night in Terreton.
The Public Information Officer for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Mickey Eames, says deputies were called to the 1300 block of 1500 North for an alleged drive-by shooting.
Eames says instead the suspect confronted and shot the victim in his driveway. Ramon Gonzalez-Vargas was taken to the hospital in critical condition. He has since been upgraded to serious condition and it appears he will recover from the gunshot wound.
Samuel Rodriguez-Silva was arrested and will be arraigned in Jefferson County Court on charges of battery with intent to commit a serious felony.
More charges are pending.
Detectives intend to release more information about this shooting during a news conference scheduled for 3:30 p.m., Monday afternoon.
