Your grandparents might remember celebrating Washington’s Birthday when they were kids. Monday we celebrated Presidents Day. The move to create a more generic holiday for all presidents came straight out of Compton back in the early 1950s.
Harold Stonebridge Fischer of Compton, California chaired the inaugural group for this cause in 1951. This is just one of the tidbits of information that tends to get lost in history. So with that said, we decided to see just how much presidential knowledge has been retained on Presidents Day.
