Pick a side in the presidential election -- and then pick a second screen to watch the action. A growing number of election fans are tuning in to see the results flow in. Aside from the traditional networks, a growing number of people are looking for coverage that either supports or contradicts their political views.

Research firm IHS says
Microsoft
and
Apple
are garnering the highest profit margins for their tablets, followed to a lesser extent by
Google
and then
Amazon
, Microsoft Corp.'s first self-made tablet, the Surface, costs about $267 in parts and labor when excluding its optional keyboard cover. It went on sale Oct. 26 priced at $499, for a profit margin of around 46 percent. Surface comes with a 10.6-inch screen measured diagonally, and can access the Internet only through Wi-Fi. The price is for its base model with 32 gigabytes of memory. With a similar configuration, the Surface bakes in more profit for Microsoft than Apple Inc. did when it released its third-generation iPad in March.
It was created for mobile phones. But now,
Instagram
, the photo-sharing app created for mobile phones, is expanding to the Web. The service will launch Instagram profiles on the Web over the next few days. In the past, user profiles existed only on Instagram's mobile applications accessed on the iPhone or Android devices. Now, users will have a Web site with a profile photo, bio and a selection of the snapshots they've recently shared on Instagram. Instagram is owned by Facebook -- and made the announcement in a blog post Monday.
