Microsoft
urges Windows users to install a security tool, after discovering a bug in the Internet Explorer browser. The security flaw affects Internet Explorer browsers used by hundreds of millions of consumers and workers and could allow hackers to take remote control of an infected PC. A free security tool to help protect your PC is available at Microsoft.com. It's an interim fix until Microsoft can correct the bug and release a more secure version of Internet Explorer.
Apple
shares hit another all-time high Monday. Apple stock came close to the 700-dollar mark in regular trading and topped 700 after hours. It's all thanks to the new i-Phone five. The new phone doesn't hit stores until Friday but people have already started lining up outside retail stores. And, pre-orders for the new device have sold out.
Your inbox will be getting the "Christmas Creep" even earlier this year. The “Christmas Creep" is the term used for how retailers seem to keep bumping up the day they start promoting Christmas each year. While the stores barely have the decorative pumpkins on the shelves before they bring in the Santas, the “Christmas Creep” will be arriving by e-mail too. According to a study released by Responsys, 15 percent of top online retailers have already started the holidays in their e-mail campaigns as of September 6th. By the way, we are less than 100 days until Christmas.
