This is usually the time of year when Rexburg has the International Dance and Music Festival. This year this whole event is now called the Idaho International Summer Fest. While the name is new, Rexburg will still put on the same quality entertainment as years past.
A flash mob started off the event in the stands of Madison Jr. High's stadium in Rexburg Monday night.
"We don't want you to miss the excitement. We promise you'll love it. There is something going everyday from Rigby, Idaho Falls to Rexburg," said Donna Benfield, the Executive Director.
This over 20 year annual event included yummy fried foods, sunny day desserts like snow cones and of course dancing performances from seven different countries.
"It's a chance for people to feel like they have to another country, experience the culture and food. It's just been wonderful," added Benfield.
Hundreds of performers have come across the world to Southeast Idaho to show, teach, and unite through the power of dance and music.
"We want all the students to get involved and what we would love to have them do is have them relies that, what we realized over the last 20 years, the world is a much smaller place and we are all the same. The most important thing to everyone and you learn this as you talk country to country is their family," said Benfield.
Summer fest will last over the following week with service projects, gala performances, street festival and a parade along with some fun youth culture workshops. For more information you can visit www.idahosummerfest.com
