The League of Women Voters of Pocatello hosted a candidate's forum tonight for the four men running for mayor. The league gave each candidate time to address their credentials before opening it up for questions and, of course, debate.People in attendance submitted notecards with their concerns and anyone watching from home could call in their questions.

We were there and had the opportunity to ask each candidate what their first move will be if elected into office.

Sierra “Idaho Lorax” Carta told us:

"Start taking down departments, or I should say advisory committees, that are functionless and useless and begin right away on clean up."

Paul Shepard commented:

"First thing I'm going to do is let people know the City of Pocatello is open for business, and then roll up my sleeves and start solving problems."

Incumbent Mayor Brian Blad said:

"I'm going to come to work and keep doing what I've been doing for the last 4 years. Just making a positive impact for Pocatello."

And former Mayor Roger Chase told us:

"I think the first thing we're going to do is we're going to sit down with our department heads, we're going to sit down and talk with people in the community and get their ideas on what we need to do to get the town going a little better."

We also asked each candidate if their campaigns have changed at all since the debate that we hosted here at KPVI, and each said they are still focused on what made them decide to run, but have kicked campaigning into high gear given that the election is just two weeks away.

You can watch all of last week's debate right now on our website at kpvi.com
