To Whom It May Concern: I don't know who chooses the music to be played on the Fourth of July, especially during the fireworks show last night but I think it needs to be reconsidered. Independence Day is national holiday to celebrate the work, toil and sweat given by our Founding Fathers to make this country an independent nation set apart from all the rest of the world, as well as the effort and lives given by those who have fought to maintain this independence and freedom. Unfortunately I feel that the celebration of this event has turned into just another national party with a reason to shoot off fireworks and get a day off work. I was wholeheartedly looking for a rejuvenating celebration of patriotism, but even during the Meleleuca fireworks display I did not hear the National Anthem played once, only party music with the word USA shouted without real concern for what the United States of America stands for. I do not dislike the music that was played, I simply feel that there is a time and place for these songs, but what we really need is a call back to arms and roots of the United States of America. I recognize that the music like the National Anthem of America offends some people and they are entitled to their opinion, however these people have chosen to live in the United States of America and if they do not feel comfortable supporting and defending this country then they perhaps they should seriously consider finding another place of residence. i hope I have not offended anyone with this message but that it is taken seriously and shared wherever possible.
