It’s always nice to hear about people giving of themselves freely, especially kids. Well, a local high school girl is helping a family dealing with a rare blood disorder to raise some money for their medical bills.
Bradei Thiel is a senior at Bonneville High School, and she wanted to get the word out about her 5k Fun Run to benefit this family.
After having three out of five kids born with a rare blood disorder and even losing one of them recently, the Haroldsen family in Ammon is allowing one of their neighbors to put on a fundraiser to help their children.
“I’ve been feeling a lot better about it. At first I was like this is so stressful, I hope I get more people to come! And actually during lunch today I was handing out little flyers to hand to people, to get the word out more because people don’t’ really listen to the morning announcements” said Bradei.
Bradei is a senior who decided to make this fundraiser into her senior project.
“I don’t know I learned that I’m not the only one with trials and that people have worse trials than I do so I shouldn’t really complain if the TV is not working or something” continued Bradei.
The 5k run will be at Freeman Park this Saturday starting at 9 a.m.
All the proceeds from the run will go directly towards the Haroldsen family.
“Mostly for the kids and it can be for the parents there’s going to be princesses. I asked for the cheerleaders to dress up like princesses, so they’re going to be there along the course to take pictures with; along with the mascots from the schools” said Bradei.
If you can’t make it to the Fun Run but would like to donate you can go to Chase Bank and put it under Nicky Thiel’s name.
