An Idaho Falls resident is making her dreams come true while at the same time helping children in need as she travels to Africa. Britni Storer was recently awarded Travelocity’s “Travel for Good Grant” which will be used to volunteer her time in Africa as she mentors and aids children in Tanzania and Kenya.

This is the two minute video Britni turned in to a panel of Travelocity judges for the chance to win the trip of a lifetime.

“The costume, I was dying in it, I was in bubble wrap, and the longer I was in it the squeakier it became, and the mustache was falling off my face, and the beard, the beard was actually taped behind my ears” said Britni.

All the hard work for the video was worth the struggle because Britni was chosen as Travelocity’s grant winner.

The grant is awarded to one applicant for each quarter of the year.

“Some people said oh you’re so lucky, you’re so spoiled, and I feel privileged for this opportunity but I think oh I don’t know if I’ll be spoiled or not, I’m not going to a resort, I really am signing myself up to go be among the locals and help those kids because I like being crazy with them and I want to inspire them” continued Britni.

Britni will be leaving for Africa in august, but before she goes she is having a farewell fundraiser party to raise money so she can stay and volunteer longer.
The fundraiser will be at Apple Athletic Club on august 4th from 5 to 9 p.m.
