Two county employees are on administrative leave right now pending an investigation into $3,500 in missing money. One of those employees is expected to be charged criminally.
This all started in July when the Madison County Sheriff's Office started investigating the case of missing money. As per protocol, the investigation was turned over to the Tri-County Sheriff's Association and two employees were placed on paid administrative leave.
The results of the investigations have been turned over to the Madison County Sheriff for review. The Prosecutor's Office is now reviewing with formal charges expected to be filed against one of the two employees. The other civilian employee was cleared from criminal involvement with these thefts.
