After being rescued from the Snake River, an Idaho Falls man is in custody after he threw a punch at one of the officers who pulled him from the water.

According to reports, 20-year-old Michael Condor jumped into the river near the 400 block of River Parkway around 7:00 pm Tuesday and began to struggle. Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputies were able to throw Condor a rescue rope at the grates of Idaho Falls Power as he was tumbling in driftwood. Rescuers were able to retrieve him from the water and while he was talking to deputies Condor took a swing at one of the officers. He was then placed in handcuffs and transported to the hospital.

Condor was arrested for misdemeanor assault on an officer and a felony probation violation.
