A big part of the American dream is being able to own your own home. Since 1993, Pocatello Neighborhood Housing Services has helped more than 850 people reach this goal for their first time.
Thursday, PNHS announced that 2013 is off to a financially great start.
It turns out PNHS has some pretty good friends. During their fundraising challenge the non-profit organization raised $5,382 in December alone.
Throw in an additional $7,000 from the Home Partnership Foundation and you can see why they are off to a great start this year.
“We are fortunate to live in a community where people are engages and I think they see the many organizations in the community, including Pocatello Neighborhood Housing Services that makes the community feel and look a lot better and bring a lot of pride,” said Mark Dahlquist, Executive Director of PNHS. “It says a lot for the people in this community to rally around a great cause.”
PNHS received the third highest cash total in the state and finished in several top categories. They were also the only non-profit organization outside of the Treasure Valley to finish in the top three.
“The nice thing about this is this is the first year that PNHS has taken part and with that we did so well that we received the notable newcomer award,” continued Dahlquist. “And so I’ll just say next year watch out rest of the state of Idaho, Pocatello and PNHS will do very well.”
