Intermountain Gas Company and Encompass Home Health & Hospice do a lot of work inside of the home such as dealing with pipes or taking care of family members. Tuesday they turned their attention to the outside of the home.
"They are wonderful, I can't believe how pleasant they are and so willing to help you and they are so kind. They just help you with anything," said Loraine Smith, the Resident.
Since 1987 hundreds of senior citizens have had the opportunity to have their homes painted by the paint fest organization. This year three homes were chosen in the Pocatello and Chubbuck area to be painted. Some of the companies that volunteered to work for paint fest this year are intermountain gas company and encompass.
"The community provides me with a job and with all of us employment and i think the least we can do is to help out with other citizens who might not be able to do it for themselves," said Tony Courville, a Corrosion Technician.
"For one thing it's good to get out of your little bubble of work that you are used to and to get out there and just do other things for people and because we provide health care and hospice for people and this is just something totally different and really rewarding," said Beverly Raymond, the Hospice Area Manager.
In order to get on the paint fest list qualified seniors must meet an age requirement and their homes have to show signs of where exterior paint is needed.
"You have to be over 65 and unable to do it yourself and willing to stay in your home," added smith.
There were 7 volunteers in all from both companies.
