A Pocatello woman is facing a burglary charge after officers say she tried to return two bags of stolen dog food.

According to Dianne Brush with the Pocatello Police Department, Thursday, 39-year-old Tina Throm found a receipt and then took the dog food off the shelf at Fred Meyer. Throm proceeded to attempt to use the found receipt to return the items. Throm was observed by store security and was detained until officers arrived.

Brush asks shoppers to help prevent this type of crime by keeping track of their receipts when leaving a store and to make sure to throw all receipts away.
